inferagen.ai is a clinical genomics platform built by Orbitnexa Technologies Pvt Ltd — a Hyderabad-based AI engineering studio incorporated in July 2025 and recognized under Startup India. We started inferagen because India's diagnostic labs deserved a software stack built for them, not for the US.
The story
How we got here.
In mid-2025, while planning the launch of Orbitnexa, we were already talking to healthcare contacts in Hyderabad about their data problems. A diagnostic lab director told us, half jokingly, “We just bought a NextSeq 1000 and we're drowning in raw FASTQ files. Can you build us something so our patients don't get a 40-page PDF?”
We dug in. Talked to 40+ Indian diagnostic labs over the next three months. Found that this was a structural problem affecting 200+ NGS labs across India. The bioinformatics tools were US/EU-built, the variant databases had <1% Indian samples, and the reporting layer didn't exist for the Indian clinician or the Indian patient.
So we incorporated Orbitnexa Technologies Pvt Ltd in July 2025 and started building inferagen as a vertical product inside it.
Today, our WES pipeline is live in production with 3–4 hour TAT, our multi-sample parallel architecture handles real lab volumes, and our smart-report engine produces clinician-grade ACMG reports plus patient-friendly summaries. Orbitnexa is recognized under Startup India, registered as MSME, and ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and ISO/IEC 20000 certified — which means inferagen inherits an enterprise-grade security and quality regime from day one.
We're funded entirely from Orbitnexa's services revenue — no external capital — and we're now opening up to seed-round conversations with vertical SaaS, deep-tech, and healthtech investors.
